Camera / Studio Scene Comparison Widget
Dpreview.com has now made available a very interesting camera comparison viewer on their website. This tool doesn’t compare the actual camera physical bodies and handling, just the image quality.

It is called Studio comparison widget, and you can use it to compare the most intricate details captured with various cameras (if you are thinking about upgrading to a newer model or adding a second body). The images are all JPGs out of the camera. That means that by editing individually RAW images you could get a slightly different result.
They designed quite an elaborate studio setup with many objects (with different colours and textures). You can select up to four different cameras and then navigate across the various areas in that setup, and view the details in 100% magnification in four small windows. You can switch between various cameras (end even different ISO settings), and compare the differences in detail, colour, and noise levels.
I found it very useful in comparing not only competing camera models in the same category, but also when comparing the APS cameras with full frame or the new MFT models. This comparison tool would come also handy if you need to select a camera for some important portrait or product shots.
Now we need a similar comparison tool for landscape shots.
